🏟️ Digital Freight Community

The LOST FR8 Discord is a digital freight community. I first wrote that phrase as to poke fun at digital freight brokers, but since as I’ve thought about it, I kind of like it.

It’s a Discord server comprised of 1137 freight professionals ranging from drivers, brokers, freight forwarders, tech bros, journalists, and more.

Each week, we have a series of events. I know you can’t always attend, so I’m going to be sharing what goes on here.

In The Arena

The Arena is the crucible of the Discord. In it, movers & shakers share their stories in front of a live audience. It’s recorded.

So far we’ve had Ross Kennedy, John Konrad, Craig Fuller, Timothy Dooner, Andrew Silver, and Rachel Premack. We also did a special AMA episode of the Voice of Go(r)d show.

Thanks to everyone who came out last week for Rachel Premack’s appearance. She shared a lot about his journey to becoming a logistics journalist. You can listen to the recording here.

I’ve got a handful of guests in the pipeline that I’m super excited to share, but not just yet. Stay tuned.

Tech Bro Tuesday

This occurs every Tuesday at 9pm EST. We discuss technology broadly and sometimes event have demos from community members. All are welcome.

Freight Therapy

This is an event we do every week at 9pm on Thursdays on Twitter Spaces.

There’s an always-evolving revolving door of characters that come in and participate. Some weeks it’s serious, others it’s mostly fun and jokes.

Last week we had John Konrad join us to provide an update on the goings on in the Red Sea. It was informative, as always.

Click here to RSVP for this week’s therapy session.

👷Community Jobs

If you’d like to list a job opportunity here, reply to this email and let me know.

🐟 Freight Caviar Corner

This week, Freight Caviar dishes on Flexport raising $260 million in capital from Shopify.

🐦 What’s Up On FreightX?

Texomatic is a CDL-holding former trucker turned exclusive photo/video provider for trucking.

He appeared on the episode of What The Truck?!? that I cohosted with Dooner.

He’s a good dude.

Check out his website and if you have any video projects hit him up!

We’re Going To Manifest

Shoutout to Logistics Girlie for the invite to Manifest 2024!

Check out the full agenda details & SAVE $200 on the current registration rate ($600 off the on-site rate!)

  • Matt Silver raised $3mm for his new cross-border logistics startup Cargado. Read his blog post here.

  • Last year, I came across a blog post called “On Trucking”. It’s written by Richard Kong, a former Y Combinator trucking startup founder. It’s an interesting read. Check it out.
